Stripping the Weapon

Now I’m not a very religious man, but I will say, I just saw a passage someone shared that kind of spoke to me.

“Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how He did it. Because He never lost sight of where He was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God.”
Hebrews 12:2-3, The Message

Why I like this is because I believe that once at least in a person’s life, and quite honestly for me once every few years, A person should really strip down themselves to really know what you know and who you are.

Religion, politics, career, guns, hobbies… whatever it is that you “know,” I say to discard and question it all anew. Build a new self of only the things have a you really know. The clarity and effectiveness of your new knowledge will refresh you beyond description, the strength of your convictions will be darn near unbreakable. You are a machine, a weapon, a man. Strip down and clean the weapon to become a better one.
